Need a good headshot photographer in Melbourne?
Too many Melbourne headshot photographers think their job starts and ends with technical know how and that’s how they’ll get the hero image.
That might be true for some photographers, but it’s not true for me.
Don’t get me wrong, of course I’m going to make you look good. The bare minimum for any photographer is knowing their way around a camera set up. But, not every headshot photographer in Melbourne can get the kind of headshot that perfectly captures who you are.
How do I photograph a headshot?
I’ve worked around the world for a ton of different clients as a headshot photographer in Melbourne, from rockstars and footy players, to CEOs and interns on their first day. I’ve even shot Prince Charles and his boys. Still, my method is always the same.
We come into the studio. I set up. We have a little conversation. I start cracking some weapons-grade Dad jokes. You chuckle. It’s a great bloody moment, we have a good time and we crack a beer. You see, my goal is to make you comfortable, so when you’re in front of my camera, you do what I want you to. Within reason.
Why do I do this? Because I want to create a moment with you, the moment right after you laugh. It happens fast and you won’t even know it’s happening. It’s only a few milliseconds, but it’s when you’re at ease, even a little vulnerable. As a result, that’s when you get the most natural-looking pictures, and trust me, those pictures look the best.
What photography session do you need?
Whatever you need, I’ve got you covered. Both of my packages contain everything you need for quality headshots.
I have two standard packages, both of which come with:
A photoshoot at All Time Studios
Retouched headshots in both colour and black and white
Outfit changes
No strict timelines
Digital image delivery in both high resolution for print and low resolution for social media
But, sometimes you need a little extra. I can respect that.
That’s why I make it possible to customise your package with extra images, additional retouching and even a hair and makeup artist. I also provide photoshoots to corporate groups, either on location or at my studio.
How long does a professional headshot session take?
One of the benefits of my photoshoots is that there isn’t a strict schedule. Too many Melbourne headshot photographers simply point, shoot and then kick you out at the first opportunity, but that’s not how I roll. After all, it’s hard to keep that positive attitude going if we’re both nervously staring at our watch, right?
So, the countdown doesn’t start the second you enter the building. Basically, we finish when we get the shot, so that’s one less thing you have to worry about.
Usually, my standard package of a single retouched headshot with 1-2 outfit changes takes approximately 30-60 minutes to shoot, whereas the 4 retouched headshots with 2-4 outfit options generally take around 60-90 minutes to shoot.
How much do headshots cost?
As a headshot photographer in Melbourne, I know that not everyone is the CEO of a tech start up. I’m not here to lecture you on smashed avocado or tell you to invest in bitcoin. I’m here to provide you with affordable headshots that’ll get your foot in the door.
I offer two available packages at a flat-rate.
Package #1 ($450 + GST) comes with:
1 retouched headshot in both colour and black-and-white
1-2 outfit changes
Extra images at $150 each
Package #2 ($750 + GST) comes with:
4 retouched headshot in both colour and black-and-white
2-4 outfit options
Extra images at $150 each
There are optional extras as well, such as extra retouching at $50 per hour, as well as an additional hair and makeup artist for $200 + GST.
What my clients say
While working as a headshot photographer in Melbourne, I’ve been lucky to collaborate with a whole range of interesting clients who enjoyed getting their photo taken as much as I enjoyed taking them. Just look at the kind words they’ve given me.

“If you need a photographer, this is the person to go to! Benny is professional, down to earth, fun and makes everybody feel at ease. We've used him twice and Benny is now at the top of our list for photographers” - Lucy Polvsen of Communications R.E.A.
